Starting on May 25, 2018, you will also be able to set limits to data processing, erase data, secure portability and not to be subject to an automated individual decision, profiling included, in accordance with the European regulation 2016/679 of 27 April 2016.
Please join a copy of a proof of identity to the request with your signature ensuring both confidentiality and protection of your personal data.
In case of unsatisfactory response, you can still bring your case to the CNIL.
How long is your personal data kept?
Webedia laid down a set of specific rules concerning the length of time personal data from users are stored.
In order to assess the most appropriate storage period, Webedia draws
a distinction between potential clients (prospects) who have never bought anything from
Webedia or its partners, and clients who have already made a purchase
in the past.
Prospects have their personal data stored as soon as they click on an advertising link included in the last prospecting email they received to see what the brand has to offer and the deal they may be interested in.
Clients have their personal data stored during their last purchase on the site.
What happens to your data after death?
Pursuant to the article 40-1 of the Information Technology and Civil Liberties law (Loi Informatique et Libertés) of 6 January 1978, you can give us your instructions related to the storage, erasure and communication of your personal data after your death.
These directives can be either general or more specific.

Who are the recipients of your data?
Your data is transferred to the trading partners of Webedia which can process the information they receive for their own purposes (recipients) or only on behalf of the data controller following the instructions of Webedia (contractors).

- Law enforcement authorities when a court issued a requisition order as part of an ongoing fraud investigation
- Commercial partners, marketing and advertising sales departments in particular
Webedia hires contractors to carry out a series of operations:

- Conduct maintenance work and technical developments of the website.

Does Webedia have a Data Protection Officer?
Webedia has appointed a data protection officer whose job is to assist the data controller in the implementation of the European regulation.

Can your data be sent out of the European Union?
Your personal data can be transmitted to companies located out of the European Union
to comply with the objectives set above despite the fact they may not have the right level of protection when it comes to personal data.
Before transferring any data outside the European Union, Webedia enforces all required proceedings to get the kinds of insurance that the data transfer will be secured, in compliance with the current regulation.
How does Webedia protect your data?
Webedia takes diverse actions to protect your data against the risk of losing data, improper use, unauthorized access, disclosure, modification or even destruction.
Here’s a list of actions taken to prevent such risks from happening:
- Database access is strictly limited to individuals who are authorized to do so as part of their professional assignments and duties
- In accordance with the Information Technology and Civil Liberties law

Modification
Webedia has the right to make some changes in its data protection policy at any time.
If the modification is significant, like adding another purpose, new information related to the matter will be provided to you by Webedia.
As a result, you will have a reasonable timeframe to exercise your own rights, if you want to, pursuant to the Information Technology and Civil Liberties law (loi informatique et libertés)
of 6 January 1978 and the European regulation.
Having said that, we advise you to come back on the site regularly to check our personal data protection policy to see whether the terms set by Webedia have been amended.
